- Two full-size cases and the cabin bags
- Loaded for you at the terminal
- The default for a couple coming home
Disembarkation morning runs on the ship's clock, not yours. You are called off by luggage group, which means the time you actually reach the kerb can move by an hour either way. The car is booked against your group, the driver watches the berth, and the fare does not change because the gangway opened late.
The short answer
A transfer home from the Sydney cruise terminals is a private, fixed-fare run of 46–199 minutes depending on your suburb, priced from $179 for one or two passengers and up to $989 for eleven in one vehicle, timed to the group you are called off in.
Every fare, published
The outbound price plus the $10 terminal pickup fee, the same from either terminal, with tolls and GST inside it. No disembarkation-day surcharge.

Distance and time
These are measured road times rather than optimistic estimates, taken across the three districts we cover. Your own suburb page carries the exact figure for your address.
| District | Road distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| Wollondilly Shire Picton, Tahmoor, Bargo | 61–165 km | 56–199 min |
| Macarthur Camden, Narellan, Campbelltown | 51–79 km | 46–77 min |
| Southern Highlands Mittagong, Bowral, Moss Vale | 100–145 km | 75–113 min |
Disembarkation is normally early morning, which is a good time to be heading south and west out of the city. These times reflect that rather than a midday run.
How it works on the day
Coming home from a cruise is not like landing on a flight. You are called off the ship by luggage group or deck, in an order set the night before, across a window that can run two or three hours from first call to last. The car is booked against your group rather than against a fixed clock time.
Your cabin is allocated a coloured luggage tag and a call time. Give us the group and the pickup is timed to it, with the driver already nearby when you are called.
Weather and traffic in the harbour move the whole schedule. The berth is watched, the driver waits, and the fare does not move because the gangway opened an hour behind.
A cruise arriving from overseas clears customs at the terminal, which adds time before you reach the kerb. It is built into the timing rather than treated as a surprise.
You come home with everything you left with, plus whatever the ports added. The vehicle is sized for the return leg as well as the outbound one.
If you do not know your group yet, book against the ship's scheduled arrival and send us the tag colour when it appears in your cabin — re-timing costs nothing.
The vehicle that turns up
The vehicle is chosen by the size of your party and the volume of luggage, then held for you. Prices shown are the lowest published fare in that band; your own suburb's number is in the table above.
Count the cases you expect to come home with, not the ones you left with. Ports add luggage and the return leg is usually the fuller one. See the full fleet.
Where we run
Seventy-five suburbs across three districts, each with a page for the run home on disembarkation morning. Four well-known towns per district are shown; the table above carries the rest.
Picton, Tahmoor, Bargo, The Oaks, Warragamba and the small settlements west of them.
Every suburb in this district →Camden, Narellan, Oran Park, Campbelltown, Menangle and the new estates around them.
Weighing it up
Disembarkation morning puts several thousand people onto one wharf inside a couple of hours, all of them with luggage, all of them wanting to leave at once.
| The alternative | What it actually means | With a fixed-fare transfer |
|---|---|---|
| The taxi rank | It exists at both terminals and it is overwhelmed on a big disembarkation. The queue is long and the metered run to the Highlands is an unknown number. | Your car is booked against your luggage group and is waiting when you are called off. |
| Rideshare | Surge pricing is at its worst precisely when a ship empties, and the pickup points at both terminals are away from the doors. | Fixed fare set at booking, met at the terminal rather than at a distant bay. |
| Train from Circular Quay | Possible from the Overseas Passenger Terminal with light luggage. From White Bay there is no station, and after a fortnight away most people are not travelling light. | One vehicle, your cases loaded for you, straight to your door. |
| Being collected | Workable if someone is free on a weekday morning and does not mind an open-ended wait for a ship that berths when it berths. | The berth is watched and the waiting is ours, not theirs. |
We have written each of these up properly — see transfer or taxi, transfer or rideshare, transfer or train and transfer or airport parking.
Why book this rather than something else
Not to a clock time you guessed at in advance. Cabins come off in a set order across a window of hours, and the pickup is booked against your group rather than against the ship's scheduled arrival.
Weather and harbour traffic move disembarkation regularly. The berth is watched, the driver waits, and the fare does not move because the gangway opened an hour behind.
The return leg is usually fuller than the outbound one. The vehicle is sized for that rather than for what you set off with.
Nothing was charged when you booked, which matters on a trip you arranged months ago. The driver is paid at the end, by card, cash or PayID.
Start to finish
The ship and arrival date get you in the diary. The luggage group or tag colour — which usually appears in your cabin the evening before — is what sets the actual time.
Your suburb's published fare and the designated pickup point for your berth. Nothing is charged in advance.
If the ship is late in, the driver waits and the fare does not change. If your group is called early, call us and the car comes forward.
Cases taken at the pickup point, then straight home. You pay the driver at your door.

The other five routes
Every suburb has a page for each of these six routes, with its own fare, its own drive time and its own timing advice. Pick the one that matches your trip.

Everything else
Between $179 and $989 one way, plus the set $10 fee when we collect you from the terminal, and the same from either terminal. There is no disembarkation-day surcharge beyond the set $10 terminal pickup fee.
Against your luggage group rather than against a clock time. Cabins are called off the ship in an order set the night before, across a window that can run two or three hours. Tell us the group or tag colour and the driver is nearby when you are actually called.
The berth is watched and the driver waits. Weather and harbour traffic move the whole disembarkation schedule fairly regularly, and the fare does not change because the gangway opened an hour behind.
Yes. Book against the ship's scheduled arrival and send us the tag colour when it appears in your cabin, usually the evening before. Re-timing costs nothing.
Between 46 and 199 minutes depending on your suburb. Disembarkation is usually early morning, which is a reasonable time to be heading south and west out of the city.
Yes. A sailing arriving from overseas clears customs at the terminal, which adds time between leaving the ship and reaching the kerb. It is built into the timing rather than treated as a surprise on the day.
The vehicle is sized for the return leg, which is often fuller than the outbound one. Tell us the case count when you book and allow for whatever the ports added.
At the terminal, at the pickup point for your berth — not at a distant bay you have to walk to with a trolley. Both White Bay and the Overseas Passenger Terminal have a designated point and the driver will be at it.
There is a rank at both terminals, but a ship empties several thousand people onto one wharf inside a couple of hours and the queue reflects that. A metered run home to the Highlands is also an open-ended number where the transfer is a known one.
No. Nothing is charged in advance and no card is held. The driver is paid when you reach home on disembarkation day.
No. It is the same published fare as every other day, from either terminal, with tolls and GST inside it — even though it is the busiest window at the wharf.
Yes. Your party alone, from the terminal to your door, with the luggage space entirely yours.
Yes, with restraints fitted and included. Send the ages when you book, and the case count with them — restraints and luggage compete for the same space in the vehicle.
At the same time as the outbound leg, ideally. Disembarkation puts a great many people onto one wharf in one morning, and a booked car is the difference between leaving and queuing.
It follows the party and the luggage coming off with them: sedan for one or two, Kia Carnival for three or four, people mover for five or six, minibus up to eleven. Count the cases you are returning with rather than the ones you left with.

Available every day of the year, at any hour; set fees apply for pickups before 6am or after 8pm. See the full fare list, the fleet, or our frequently asked questions.
