What does the run home from White Bay to Avon cost?
A fixed $299 one way for one or two passengers, up to $439 for eleven in one vehicle. It is the sail-day fare plus the $10 terminal pickup fee, and any time-of-day fee.
What time will you collect us?
By message rather than by clock. That is the only arrangement that survives a disembarkation, where the release order is by tag colour and not by cabin number.
What if we are held up in customs?
No meter and no clock. The fare was fixed before you sailed and the wait does not change it.
How long is the drive home?
About 1 hr 4 min for the 82 km from White Bay at Rozelle, and 1 hr 8 min for the 84 km from the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay. The slow part is getting out of the terminal precinct rather than the motorway.
Which terminal will my ship dock at?
Both, each with its own published fare. White Bay is at Rozelle and takes most of the shorter sailings; the Overseas Passenger Terminal is at Circular Quay and takes the larger international ships. Your cruise documents name it — from Avon it is 82 km from White Bay and 84 km from the Quay.
How much can you carry on the way home?
Plenty, provided we know in advance. Duty free, gifts and a fortnight of washing all have to go somewhere, and a sedan that fitted you on the way out may not on the way back.
Do I pay before I sail?
No deposit and no card on file. Payment happens at the end of the trip.
Do you drop right at the address?
Yes — no interchange and no shared leg. Catchment-area addresses can be hard to distinguish in the dark. We take the nearest landmark as well as the number, and the driver will call rather than guess if anything looks wrong.
Is a booked car better than the rank at the terminal?
Two things a rank cannot give you: a boot chosen for cruise luggage, and a known price on a long run out of the city.
Can eleven of us travel home together?
One minibus takes eleven for $439, which beats three cars from the rank on both price and on everyone leaving together.
Do you fit capsules and boosters for the drive home?
Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters, all fitted before we arrive and all at no cost. We need the ages when you book.
What are the alternatives?
Realistically no. It is not the distance, it is doing it with a fortnight of luggage.
Do you also do the sail-day run?
Both, and most people book them together. Boarding-window timing, terminal drop detail and the fare are on the Avon cruise transfers page.
Do you do multiple drop-offs?
Yes, provided they are close together. Two or three stops in the same suburb is normal and does not change the fare; stops in different towns are quoted separately so nobody is surprised.
Can we move the booking?
Tell us and it moves at no cost. Nothing is charged in advance, so there is no cancellation fee and nothing to refund.
How will the driver know we are off the ship?
One text. When you are through the hall with the cases, message the number on your confirmation and the driver comes to the doors. That is the whole arrangement.
Which suburbs nearby do you also drive home from the terminals?
Buxton, Bargo, Yanderra, Couridjah and the rest of the district — all 75 suburbs across Wollondilly Shire, Macarthur and the Southern Highlands, each with its own published fare and its own distance from both terminals.
