How much is a transfer from the cruise terminal to Picton?
A fixed $275 one way for one or two passengers, up to $375 for eleven in one vehicle. It is the sail-day fare plus the $10 terminal pickup fee, and any time-of-day fee.
How does the pickup work if disembarkation has no set time?
There is no fixed pickup time, because there is nothing reliable to fix it to. The driver is nearby from early and pulls in on your text.
Is there a meter running while we queue?
No. The driver waits nearby at no charge, however long the hall takes. There is no meter on this booking and no waiting fee.
How long will we be in the car?
White Bay is 1 hr 8 min from home, Circular Quay 1 hr 13 min. Both are door-to-door figures.
What is the difference between White Bay and Circular Quay?
Both, each with its own published fare. White Bay is at Rozelle and takes most of the shorter sailings; the Overseas Passenger Terminal is at Circular Quay and takes the larger international ships. Your cruise documents name it — from Picton it is 85 km from White Bay and 87 km from the Quay.
How much can you carry on the way home?
That is exactly why we ask for a case count at booking. A cruise comes home heavier than it left, and the vehicle is chosen for the boot rather than the seats.
Is a deposit required?
No deposit and no card on file. Payment happens at the end of the trip.
Is it door to door from the terminal?
Yes. One vehicle, your party only, terminal to door. Most Picton addresses are straightforward, but the older streets around the creek flat have deep front setbacks and no street lighting to speak of. The driver will pull into the drive rather than stop at the kerb unless you ask otherwise.
Is a booked car better than the rank at the terminal?
On disembarkation morning, considerably. Two or three thousand passengers come off at once and a 85 km fare out to this district is one plenty of drivers would rather not take. A booked car is already there and already priced.
What is the largest group you can meet?
One minibus takes eleven for $375, which beats three cars from the rank on both price and on everyone leaving together.
Is there a charge for child restraints?
Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters, all fitted before we arrive and all at no cost. We need the ages when you book.
What are the alternatives?
Not with cruise luggage. White Bay has no station at all, and while Circular Quay does, reaching Picton from it means a change and then still a car at the far end.
We are travelling with family going to two houses — is that possible?
Within one suburb, yes, at the same price. Spread across the district we would rather quote it properly.
What if the cruise is cancelled or the itinerary changes?
No fee. We move it to the new date and the fare stays the same.
How will the driver know we are off the ship?
One text. When you are through the hall with the cases, message the number on your confirmation and the driver comes to the doors. That is the whole arrangement.
Which suburbs nearby do you also drive home from the terminals?
Tahmoor, Thirlmere, Pheasants Nest, Couridjah and the rest of the district — all 75 suburbs across Wollondilly Shire, Macarthur and the Southern Highlands, each with its own published fare and its own distance from both terminals.
