Boarding at Rozelle or Circular Quay? Private transfers from Alpine — a small rural pocket in the hills above Mittagong, quiet and largely unsigned — priced before you book and paid on the day you sail.
Wollondilly Airport Shuttle drives Alpine (NSW 2575) to both Sydney cruise terminals — a fixed-fare private transfer, not a shared shuttle. White Bay Cruise Terminal at Rozelle is 108 km from the Alpine turnoff on the old highway, about 1 hr 46 min; the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay is 110 km, about 1 hr 50 min. The fare is $295 one way for one or two passengers, rising to $435 for eleven in one vehicle — the same at either cruise terminal, with Sydney Airport at $255. Boarding runs by deck and luggage tag rather than a published time, so the pickup is set against your boarding window. Nothing is payable in advance. Give us the boarding window and we do the arithmetic. Quote on 0427 143 612.
One fare, either terminal
The cruise terminals have their own published fare. One or two passengers pay $295, against $255 to Sydney Airport.
| Passengers | Vehicle | Fixed fare (one way) | Typical booking |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | Sedan | $295 | couples and solo travellers |
| 3 | Kia Carnival | $325 | a family of three with cases |
| 4 | Kia Carnival | $325 | four adults and luggage |
| 5 | People Mover | $355 | school-holiday family runs |
| 6 | People Mover | $355 | two households travelling together |
| 7 | Minibus | $405 | extended family departures |
| 8 | Minibus | $405 | cruise parties with full cases |
| 9 | Minibus | $435 | wedding guests travelling as one |
| 10 | Minibus | $435 | clubs and work groups |
| 11 | Minibus | $435 | the maximum in a single vehicle |
No weekend loading and no sail-day premium; extra bags beyond one suitcase and one carry-on per passenger are $5 each. What you were quoted is what you pay. No advance payment and no card hold — you pay on the day of travel. Fares reviewed August 2026.
Luggage is the reason people book this one. A cruise generates more of it than a flight does, and it is the difference between the right vehicle and a bad morning.
Sized for the cases
Cruise bags are bigger and there are more of them, so we size the vehicle from the boot up rather than from the seats down.

Every class includes the same things. Tolls and GST are inside the fare, child restraints are fitted before we leave at no cost, arrivals are tracked by flight number, and there is no advance payment — you pay on the day of travel. The only thing that changes between cards is how many people and how much luggage fit.
Door to gangway
Allow about 1 hr 46 min for the 108 km from the Alpine turnoff on the old highway to White Bay at Rozelle, and about 1 hr 50 min for the 110 km to the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay. Cruise departures run the full length of the Hume north then east through the tunnel. It is a long morning and we set off well before the M5 East begins to fill.
The motorway section is the predictable part. What varies is the last two kilometres: James Craig Road into White Bay backs up when two ships turn around on the same morning, and the kerb at Circular Quay is short and heavily marshalled. Both allowances are already inside the pickup time we give you.
Coming home again? Disembarkation pickups are on the cruise terminal to Alpine page.
Boarding windows, not departure times
Cruise lines board by deck and luggage tag rather than all at once, so the useful number is your boarding window, not the departure time on the ticket. We work back from that.
These are guides. Send the boarding window from your cruise documents and we set the exact time against it — including for the January and Christmas sailings when the terminal is at its worst.
Where we set you down

Rozelle's White Bay terminal takes most of the shorter sailings. The drop is at the doors, and the approach traffic is already inside the time we quoted you.
The Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay has the tightest kerb in Sydney on a sail day. We drop at the terminal door rather than leaving you to walk the last stretch with a trolley.
The pickup is at your own address, at a time worked back from your boarding window rather than from a round number.
The two terminals
White Bay at Rozelle is 108 km from Alpine and the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay is 110 km. Your cruise documents name the one you need; both cost the same and both are driven to the terminal doors.
about 1 hr 46 min · Victoria Rd and James Craig Rd
Where P&O and most of the shorter sailings go from. The approach up James Craig Road is the slow part on a busy morning, and it is already inside the time we quote. Full detail on the White Bay transfers page.
about 1 hr 50 min · into the city, tightest kerb of the two
The city terminal, right on the harbour, and the tighter of the two kerbs on a sail day. We drop at the entrance rather than several streets short.
$295 to either terminal. Rozelle or Circular Quay, weekday or weekend — the fare was set by your suburb and your group size, not by where the ship happens to be berthed.
Get Free QuoteThe honest comparison
The luggage is what rules most of these out. It is not the distance to the harbour, it is getting a fortnight's packing there without four changes.
| Option | Typical cost (2 adults) | Door to terminal | What it actually involves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer (us) | $295 fixed | ~1 hr 46 min, door to terminal | one fixed fare, a boot that fits the cases, and a drop at the terminal doors whatever the queue is doing |
| Train and a walk | Opal fares, plus a drive to the station | 2 hrs or more, with the cases | White Bay has no station at all; Circular Quay has one, but reaching it from Alpine means a drive, a change and a walk with cruise luggage |
| Rideshare or taxi | metered, and surge-dependent | ~1 hr 46 min if a car accepts | alpine is a handful of properties rather than a village, and nothing serves it |
| Drive and park | fuel and tolls plus from about $190 a week in budget long-stay parking | ~1 hr 46 min plus finding somewhere to leave it | there is no long-stay parking at either terminal, so it means leaving a car somewhere in the inner west for the length of the cruise |
Neither cruise terminal has long-stay parking of its own, and neither is reachable from Alpine without a car at one end. The honest summary: for a solo traveller with a cabin bag the train to Circular Quay is possible; for two people with a fortnight of luggage it is not.
One vehicle, one fare

Eleven passengers and their luggage travel in one minibus for $435 — about $40 a seat, against three separate cars at whatever the apps are charging that morning. Everyone leaves at once and arrives at once.
Give us the headcount and a rough bag count when you book. If the group is flying out on two different flights, say so and we will either run two pickups or hold one vehicle — a much easier decision now than at 4am.
Booked car or app
A metered or surge-priced trip of 108 km has no ceiling until it ends. Yours was $295 the moment you booked.
An app at 4am in this district is a hope, not a plan. A pre-booked driver is on the sheet with your address and your flight number.
Cruise cases are bigger and there are more of them. A vehicle chosen from your case count beats one that happened to accept the job.
Why pre-book the western run
A cruise generates more luggage than a flight, and the vehicle is chosen from your case count rather than your headcount.
White Bay at Rozelle and the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay cost the same as each other.
Not to the departure time on the ticket, which is a different and less useful number.
No deposit and no card held. You pay the driver at the terminal, by card, cash or PayID.
James Craig Road and the Quay both queue on a sail day. That time is already inside the pickup we quoted.
Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters fitted before we arrive.

Questions, answered plainly
$295 for a couple, rising in fixed steps to $435 for a full eleven-seat minibus. The cruise terminals have their own published fare, with no sail-day loading.
Both. White Bay is at Rozelle and takes most of the shorter sailings; the Overseas Passenger Terminal is at Circular Quay and takes the larger international ships. Your cruise documents name the one you need — from Alpine it is 108 km to White Bay and 110 km to the Quay.
About 1 hr 46 min for the 108 km to White Bay, and 1 hr 50 min for the 110 km to Circular Quay. The motorway part is predictable; the last two kilometres into either terminal are the slow bit on a sail day, and that is already inside the time we quote.
We use the boarding window on your cruise documents, not the sailing time. Those are different numbers and the second one is no use for planning a pickup.
Plenty, provided we know in advance. On a sail day the luggage usually outranks the passenger count when we choose the class.
No. Nothing is charged at booking and no card is held. You pay the driver at the terminal on the day, by card, cash or PayID, with a tax invoice emailed afterwards if you want one.
Yes, and most people book both at once. Disembarkation runs by luggage tag rather than a published time, so the return is worked off a message from you at the terminal doors — the detail is on the cruise terminal to Alpine page.
Yes — eleven passengers in one minibus for $435, about $40 a seat. On a cruise run the luggage is the limit rather than the seats, so tell us the case count and we will be straight with you about whether it all fits.
Not sensibly. White Bay has no rail station and the bus connections from Alpine involve several changes with your cruise luggage. Circular Quay has a station, but getting to it from here with the cases is the trip you were trying to avoid.
Yes and no charge — but the ages matter at booking, because the seats go in before we set off.
Yes — the early boarding windows are routine here; pickups before 6am add $20. Alpine is a handful of properties rather than a village, and nothing serves it.
Twenty-four to forty-eight hours is comfortable, but the January and Christmas cruise season fills much earlier — for those, book when you book the cabin.
Within one suburb, yes, and at the same price. Spread across the district we would rather quote it properly than squeeze it.
One message reschedules it, free. Cruise itineraries move more often than flight times do, which is one reason we take no deposit.
As close as the marshals allow, which at both terminals is the entrance itself.
