What does the run from Bowral to the cruise terminal cost?
$315 for a couple, rising in fixed steps to $455 for a full eleven-seat minibus. The cruise terminals have their own published fare, with no sail-day loading.
Which terminal will my ship sail from?
Both terminals, same price. White Bay (125 km from here) is the easier approach; the OPT at Circular Quay (127 km) has the tighter kerb but puts you right on the harbour.
How far is White Bay from Bowral?
About 2 hr for the 125 km to White Bay, and 2 hr 5 min for the 127 km to Circular Quay. The motorway part is predictable; the last two kilometres into either terminal are the slow bit on a sail day, and that is already inside the time we quote.
What time will you pick us up on sail day?
Backwards from your boarding window. Send the documents and we set the exact time; on a morning when two ships turn around together we start earlier.
Do you have room for a fortnight's packing?
That is the question that picks the vehicle. A cruise generates more luggage than a flight, so tell us the case count as well as the headcount and we send something with the boot for it — a sedan for a couple travelling light, a people mover or minibus for anything more.
When do I actually pay?
Nothing up front. The fare is settled at the terminal, which also means a changed sailing costs you nothing.
Do you do the return leg too?
Yes, and most people book both at once. Disembarkation runs by luggage tag rather than a published time, so the return is worked off a message from you at the terminal doors — the detail is on the cruise terminal to Bowral page.
What is the largest group you can take to the terminal?
One minibus takes eleven for $455. Groups sailing together usually have more luggage than the seat count implies, which is worth mentioning at booking.
Could we get to White Bay on public transport?
Realistically no. The luggage is what rules it out — it is not the distance, it is the four changes and the stairs.
Do you fit capsules and boosters?
Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters, all fitted before we arrive and all at no cost. We need the ages when you book.
Do you run the very early sail-day starts?
Any hour, including weekends and public holidays; set fees apply for pickups before 6am or after 8pm. Bowral's last train is well before the last international arrival, and a taxi from the terminal to the Highlands is a fare most people would rather not see.
How much notice do you need?
Earlier than you would for a flight. The cruise season concentrates a lot of sailings into a few weeks.
We are travelling with family from two houses — is that possible?
Yes, provided they are close together. Two or three stops in the same suburb is normal on a cruise booking and does not change the fare; stops in different towns are quoted separately so nobody is surprised.
What if our sailing is cancelled or moved?
Tell us and the booking moves at no cost. Nothing is charged in advance, so there is no cancellation fee and nothing to refund.
Where exactly does the vehicle stop?
As close as the marshals allow, which at both terminals is the entrance itself.
Do you serve the towns for sailings?
Berrima, Burradoo, Welby, Renwick and the rest of the district — all 75 suburbs across Wollondilly Shire, Macarthur and the Southern Highlands, each with its own published fare and its own distance to both terminals.
