How long it takes
Allow about 1 hr 35 min for the 106 km from the terminal to the Welby shops on Old Hume Highway. Off the Hume at Mittagong and immediately into Welby. Quick, direct and with almost no road between the exit and the door.
You are travelling against the grain of Sydney's peak, which helps. Once past the airport tunnel the westbound run opens up, and by evening it is the fastest it gets all day.

The station access fee is Transport for NSW's published charge for entering or leaving an airport rail station — check the current figure before you rely on it. The honest summary for an arrival into Welby: rail can work in daylight with hand luggage, and stops working entirely once the flight is late, the bags are checked, or the last service has gone.
Groups off one flight
