Land, clear customs, and the car is already there. A private fixed-fare run from Sydney Airport home to Mittagong, the Highlands' northern gateway, where the motorway, the railway and the old highway all converge, booked before you fly and paid on the day you travel.
Wollondilly Airport Shuttle meets arriving passengers at Sydney Airport and drives them home to Mittagong (NSW 2575) — a fixed-fare private transfer, not a shared shuttle. The driver waits in the P7 Rideshare Pickup Area at T1, or in the priority pickup area at T2 and T3, and the fare is $275 one way for one or two passengers, rising to $425 for eleven in one vehicle. It is 104 km from the terminal to the Main Street shops and the Highlands Marketplace, about 1 hr 30 min. We track the flight number, so a delay moves the pickup at no charge — a full hour of free waiting at T1 and forty minutes at T2 and T3. Nothing is payable in advance. Book both legs together and the return is done before you have packed. Quote on 0427 143 612.
Fixed fare each way; pickups add $10
The trip home costs exactly what the trip out costs: $275 one way for one or two passengers, with the same steps for larger groups.

A four-hour delay and Christmas Day cost the same as a Tuesday lunchtime arrival; set fees apply for pickups before 6am or after 8pm. Nothing is added afterwards. Booking a Mittagong transfer costs nothing up front; you pay the driver on the day. Fares reviewed August 2026.
The return leg is the one worth booking. Getting out of Mittagong is usually manageable. Getting home at midnight with luggage is the part that catches people out.
Waiting when you land
The class is chosen before you land, from your passengers and your luggage — not decided at the kerb.

Same service in all four. Whichever class meets your flight, the fare covers tolls and GST, the child seats are free and already fitted, the aircraft is tracked, and nothing is payable before the drive to Mittagong. Only capacity separates them.
The drive home
Allow about 1 hr 30 min for the 104 km from the terminal to the Main Street shops and the Highlands Marketplace. Off the Hume directly into the town. The shortest motorway-to-door leg in the Highlands, which makes Mittagong the easiest late arrival in the region and one of the more common.
You are travelling against the grain of Sydney's peak, which helps. Once past the airport tunnel the westbound run opens up, and by evening it is the fastest it gets all day.
If you are flying out rather than in, the leave-by times and departure fares are on the Mittagong to Sydney Airport page.
Delays, diversions and late nights
Timetables are optimistic and aircraft are not. The booking watches the flight rather than the clock, so here is exactly what each kind of disruption means for you.
The booking follows the aircraft. However late it lands, an hour from wheels-down at T1 is free, and the driver is there when you emerge.
At T2 and T3 you have forty minutes from wheels-down before waiting is even discussed, which comfortably covers a domestic bag belt.
Cancellations and reroutes are handled by phone or text at no cost — there is no deposit sitting with us to argue about.
Give us the flight number rather than a landing time when you book — that is the single thing that makes the arrival look after itself.
Meeting points, terminal by terminal

Clear customs and walk out into the arrivals hall. Your driver is waiting in the Rideshare Pickup Area inside P7, opposite T1 arrivals, and will take the cases from there to the vehicle.
T2 and T3 work the other way round: you text from the baggage hall, and the vehicle is in the priority pickup area by the time you reach the doors.
From the kerb it is a single run to your address, with no other pickups and no detours built into it. Town streets with clear numbering and reasonable lighting — among the more straightforward doors in the Southern Highlands.
The other airport
Western Sydney International starts taking passengers, and arrivals there are handled as they are at Sydney Airport: a fixed fare, free waiting, driven to your door.
about 1 hr 2 min · toll-free on our route
The return is quick and untolled, with clear numbering and reasonable lighting at the end. Among the more straightforward late arrivals in the Southern Highlands. Route detail on the Mittagong to WSI page.
about 1 hr 30 min · Hume, M5 and tunnel
The overwhelming majority of arrivals we meet are here — inside the hall at T1, at the priority zone for T2 and T3.
$275 from Sydney Airport, $245 from Western Sydney. Which terminal and how late the aircraft was make no difference; the pickup adds a set $10, plus $10–$20 after 8pm.

Nobody makes a good decision about transport while queuing with luggage, so the comparison is set out here.
| Option | Typical cost (2 adults) | Door to terminal | What it actually involves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer (us) | $275 fixed | ~1 hr 30 min, door to door | someone holding your name when you walk out, your bags handled, and a fare settled before you flew |
| Train from the airport | Opal fares plus $18.61 station access fee each | 2 hrs or more, if it is running | the airport line to Central, a change, then the Southern Highlands service to Mittagong — plus the $18.61 station access fee each, and only if you land early enough to catch it |
| Rideshare or taxi | metered, and surge-dependent | ~1 hr 30 min if a car accepts | The station's last service is early and the town shuts down by ten |
| Drive and park | fuel and tolls plus from about $190 a week in budget long-stay parking | ~1 hr 30 min plus the car park shuttle | only works if you drove yourself out and left the car there — and it means finding the car park shuttle after a long flight before you can start driving |
The station access fee is Transport for NSW's published charge for entering or leaving an airport rail station — check the current figure before you rely on it. The honest summary for an arrival into Mittagong: rail can work in daylight with hand luggage, and stops working entirely once the flight is late, the bags are checked, or the last service has gone.
Landing as a group

Eleven arriving passengers are met by one vehicle for $425 — about $39 a seat, against three separate taxis from the rank at whatever the meter says. Extended families, sports teams and friends landing together all book this way.
Flight number, passengers, bags. If the party is arriving on two different aircraft, that is not a problem, but tell us which you want for the Mittagong run: one vehicle waiting for the second flight, or two separate pickups.
The rank, honestly
Ranks are fine at 2pm on a Tuesday. They are not fine at 11pm when four international flights have landed inside forty minutes.
Metered pricing on a run this long depends on conditions you cannot see from the queue. A fixed fare removes the question.
A long one-way run with no return fare is not every driver's preference. Ours is dispatched knowing exactly where it goes.
Why book the arrival
It takes two minutes now and saves the worst twenty minutes of the trip later.
Your name on a card past customs, rather than a pin dropped in a car park you have never seen.
Sixty minutes at T1 and forty at T2 and T3, timed from the real landing rather than the schedule.
No deposit, no pre-authorisation, no card details sitting on file. The fare is settled with the driver when you get home — card, cash or PayID — and an invoice follows by email if you need it.
Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters, fitted in advance from the ages you give us.
No date carries a surcharge on this service; set fees apply only for pickups before 6am or after 8pm.

Arrival questions
Between $275 and $425, decided by how many seats you need rather than by the traffic; set fees apply for pickups before 6am or after 8pm. It is the outbound fare plus the $10 airport pickup fee, and any time-of-day fee.
Walk out of customs at T1 and the driver taking you to Mittagong is waiting in the Rideshare Pickup Area inside P7. At T2 and T3 there is no hall to wait in, so you message once you have your bag and the car pulls into the priority area for the run out to Mittagong.
Roughly 1 hr 30 min to cover 104 km. Evening arrivals usually run clean once past the airport tunnel, since the heavy traffic on the M5 East is heading the opposite way.
It costs you nothing. The booking is tied to the flight number, not a time you nominated, so the driver simply leaves later. Sixty minutes of free waiting applies at T1 and forty at the domestic terminals, timed from the real landing rather than the schedule you booked against.
Tell us the new flight number and the job moves with it. Nothing was taken at booking, so a cancellation costs you exactly nothing.
No, and no pre-authorisation either. Payment happens at the end of the trip, at your door, in whichever of card, cash or PayID suits you at your Mittagong address.
Yes. One vehicle, your party only, from the terminal to the address. Town streets with clear numbering and reasonable lighting — among the more straightforward doors in the Southern Highlands.
It works if you land early and travel light — airport line to Central, change, then the Southern Highlands train. Budget the $18.61 station access fee per adult, well over two hours, and no service at all once the evening arrivals start landing.
Usually, and the difference is worst on the bad nights. When several long-haul flights land together the rank slows right down, and a 104 km fare out of the city is one plenty of drivers would rather not take. A booked car is already waiting and already priced.
Yes — at that airport's own published fare. The fare there is $245 for one or two, with the same included waiting and the same drive to your address.
One minibus takes eleven and their bags for $425 — about $39 per seat against three taxis at whatever the meters say. Two flights, two options: hold, or run separately.
Yes, at no cost. Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters are fitted before the vehicle leaves for the terminal, so we need the children's ages when you book rather than when you land.
Every night of the year, including the last arrivals. The station's last service is early and the town shuts down by ten.
A day or two is plenty outside the busy weeks; over Christmas and school holidays give us more for a Mittagong run. The easiest approach is to book both legs together when you arrange the departure.
Send a text. Often the car is already on site and it is a couple of minutes; if not, you get a real number of minutes rather than a vague reassurance about the Mittagong run.
