The trip home from Sydney Airport to Avon — the catchment country around Avon Dam, where the road ends at a locked gate and the bush takes over — done as a private transfer: your name at the meeting point, your luggage in the boot, and one agreed fare with no meter running.
Wollondilly Airport Shuttle meets arriving passengers at Sydney Airport and drives them home to Avon (NSW 2574) — a fixed-fare private transfer, not a shared shuttle. The driver waits in the P7 Rideshare Pickup Area at T1, or in the priority pickup area at T2 and T3, and the fare is $259 one way for one or two passengers, rising to $449 for eleven in one vehicle. It is 75 km from the terminal to the Avon Dam Road turnoff, about 1 hr 2 min. The flight number is tracked from wheels-down, so a late arrival simply shifts the Avon pickup: an hour of free waiting at T1, forty minutes at T2 and T3, and no charge either way. Nothing is payable in advance. Book before you fly and the car is on the sheet before you board. Quote on 0427 143 612.
Fares, in both directions
The trip home costs exactly what the trip out costs: $259 one way for one or two passengers, with the same steps for larger groups.
| Passengers | Vehicle | Fixed fare (one way) | Typical booking |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | Sedan | $259 | a couple off a long-haul flight |
| 3 | Kia Carnival | $289 | three passengers and full-size cases |
| 4 | Kia Carnival | $289 | four travelling together |
| 5 | People Mover | $329 | a family home from a trip |
| 6 | People Mover | $329 | two couples sharing the run |
| 7 | Minibus | $389 | three generations on one flight |
| 8 | Minibus | $389 | passengers off a ship |
| 9 | Minibus | $449 | guests arriving for a function |
| 10 | Minibus | $449 | work crews and touring parties |
| 11 | Minibus | $449 | eleven in one go |
A four-hour delay and Christmas Day cost the same as a Tuesday lunchtime arrival; set fees apply for pickups before 6am or after 8pm. Nothing is added afterwards. Nothing is charged at booking and no card is held; the fare is paid on the day. Fares reviewed August 2026.
The cheap decision is made in advance. Every option you have at the kerb is priced by the conditions of that night. The one you book from home is not.
Meeting your aircraft
The car is matched to your party before the flight lands, not negotiated at the kerb with a driver who has a boot too small.

Distance and drive time
Allow about 1 hr 2 min for the 75 km from the terminal to the Avon Dam Road turnoff. Off the Hume at Bargo and then out along Avon Dam Road, which is the part that takes the time. It is a proper bush road: unlit, winding, and with wildlife on it after dark, so the driver will be deliberately unhurried on the final stretch.
Heading out of the city is the kinder leg. The heavy traffic on the M5 East runs the other way in the morning peak, so an evening arrival usually clears the tunnel and keeps moving.
If you are flying out rather than in, the leave-by times and departure fares are on the Avon to Sydney Airport page.
Disruption, handled
Almost nothing about an arrival runs to the printed schedule, which is why the pickup is tied to your flight number instead of an agreed hour. The three situations below cover most of it.
We track the flight number, so a two-hour delay simply moves the pickup. A full hour of waiting from touchdown is included at T1, and it costs nothing.
Forty minutes from touchdown at T2 and T3, measured from the actual landing rather than the timetable. Domestic bags come off faster and the allowance reflects that.
Cancellations and reroutes are handled by phone or text at no cost — there is no deposit sitting with us to argue about.
Give us the flight number rather than a landing time when you book — that is the single thing that makes the arrival look after itself.
Terminal by terminal

T1 is a terminal pickup: the driver is inside arrivals with your name, and walks you and the luggage out to the vehicle.
For T2 and T3 the driver waits in the priority pickup area. Send a text once you have your bag and the car is at the kerb as you reach the door.
Then it is one run to your door with nobody else in the vehicle and nothing else on the itinerary. Catchment-area addresses can be hard to distinguish in the dark. We take the nearest landmark as well as the number, and the driver will call rather than guess if anything looks wrong.
Western Sydney arrivals
Once Western Sydney International is the closer terminal for much of this district, and we meet flights there with the same service at its own published fare.
about 49 min · toll-free on our route
Home from WSI means the reverse, finishing on an unlit bush road with wildlife on it. The driver takes that last section carefully, which is exactly the reason not to be driving it yourself after a flight. Route detail on the Avon to WSI page.
about 1 hr 2 min · Hume, M5 and tunnel
The overwhelming majority of arrivals we meet are here — inside the hall at T1, at the priority zone for T2 and T3.
$259 from this airport; each airport has its own published fare. The arrival fare does not change with the terminal, the hour or the length of the delay — and there is no station access fee, because we drive you the whole way.

The arrivals hall, tired and holding a trolley, is the worst place to weigh this up. Do it now instead.
| Option | Typical cost (2 adults) | Door to terminal | What it actually involves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer (us) | $259 fixed | ~1 hr 2 min, door to door | met inside the terminal, luggage carried, a fixed published fare, straight to your door |
| Train from the airport | Opal fares plus $18.61 station access fee each | 2 hrs or more, if it is running | rail gets you as far as Bargo or Tahmoor at best, with an $18.61 access fee each and somebody still needing to collect you from the platform at the other end |
| Rideshare or taxi | metered, and surge-dependent | ~1 hr 2 min if a car accepts | Avon at night is as isolated as anywhere in the shire that still has a sealed road |
| Drive and park | fuel and tolls plus from about $190 a week in budget long-stay parking | ~1 hr 2 min plus the car park shuttle | only works if you drove yourself out and left the car there — and it means finding the car park shuttle after a long flight before you can start driving |
The station access fee is Transport for NSW's published charge for entering or leaving an airport rail station — check the current figure before you rely on it. The honest summary for an arrival into Avon: rail can work in daylight with hand luggage, and stops working entirely once the flight is late, the bags are checked, or the last service has gone.
Eleven in one vehicle

Eleven arriving passengers are met by one vehicle for $449 — about $41 a seat, against three separate taxis from the rank at whatever the meter says. Extended families, sports teams and friends landing together all book this way.
Give us the headcount, the luggage and the flight number up front. Groups arriving on separate flights are common, and both options — hold the vehicle, or run two pickups — are easier settled before you fly than at the kerb.
Against the taxi rank
Taxi queues at Sydney Airport build exactly when the big arrivals land together. A booked driver is already waiting and does not join a queue.
Metered and surge pricing on a run this long is decided by the traffic and the hour. Yours was agreed before you left home.
A long run out of the city late at night is one plenty of drivers decline. Booked in advance, that is not a conversation you have to have.
Six reasons to pre-book
It takes two minutes now and saves the worst twenty minutes of the trip later.
Your name on a card past customs, rather than a pin dropped in a car park you have never seen.
Sixty minutes at T1 and forty at T2 and T3, timed from the real landing rather than the schedule.
You are not charged anything at booking and no hold goes on your card. Payment happens at your door on the day, however you prefer to pay, with a tax invoice on request.
Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters, fitted in advance from the ages you give us.
No date carries a surcharge on this service; set fees apply only for pickups before 6am or after 8pm.

Common arrival questions
A fixed $259 one way for one or two passengers, up to $449 for eleven in one vehicle. It is the outbound fare plus the $10 airport pickup fee — set fees apply for pickups before 6am or after 8pm, and there is no public-holiday surcharge.
International arrivals are a terminal pickup: your name on a card inside the T1 hall, just past the customs doors, and help with the luggage from there. Domestic is a text from the baggage belt and the vehicle in the priority pickup zone as you reach the door.
75 km, normally about 1 hr 2 min. You are driving away from Sydney's peak rather than into it, which is why the homeward leg tends to beat the outbound one on the same road.
No charge and no action needed from you. We watch the flight, the pickup shifts with it, and the free waiting allowance — an hour at T1, forty minutes at T2 and T3 — only starts once the wheels are actually down.
One message rebooks it. Since no money has changed hands and no card is held, there is nothing to refund and no fee to argue about.
Nothing is payable in advance and no card is stored. The fare is settled with the driver when you get home — card, cash or PayID — with an emailed invoice on request.
Yes, that is the whole point of it. Catchment-area addresses can be hard to distinguish in the dark. We take the nearest landmark as well as the number, and the driver will call rather than guess if anything looks wrong.
Only partway. Bargo or Tahmoor is the practical limit, the airport station access fee is $18.61 a head on top of the Opal fare, and the remaining distance is a pickup you would have to arrange anyway.
Two things: certainty of price on a 75 km run, and certainty that a car exists at all. Both disappear at the rank on a busy night, which is generally the night you are landing.
Yes. Nothing about the booking changes: $259, free waiting from touchdown, and no advance payment.
Yes — eleven arriving passengers and their luggage in one minibus for $449, about $41 a seat. If the group is split across two flights, tell us and we will either hold the vehicle or run two pickups.
Yes and no charge. Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters are fitted before departure for the airport, which is why the ages matter at booking rather than on the day.
Yes — pickups from 8pm to 10pm add $10, and after 10pm $20. Avon at night is as isolated as anywhere in the shire that still has a sealed road.
Anything from twenty-four hours ahead is usually fine, though peak holiday periods fill earlier. Booking the arrival alongside the departure saves thinking about it twice.
Just message. The driver will either be nearby already or will tell you precisely how long — we would rather give you an honest fifteen minutes than an optimistic five.
