How much is an airport shuttle from Thirlmere to Sydney Airport?
A fixed $235 one way for one or two passengers, rising to $265 for three or four, $295 for five or six, $335 for seven or eight and $385 for nine through eleven in one minibus. Tolls, GST, one suitcase and one carry-on each, and child seats are included throughout.
What is the cheapest way to get from Thirlmere to Sydney Airport?
One person travelling with hand luggage on a mid-morning flight can do it more cheaply by train via Campbelltown. For two travellers, for the luggage a long itinerary needs, and for anything departing before dawn, the fixed $235 car is both cheaper in practice and about an hour faster.
How long does the drive from Thirlmere to Sydney Airport take?
About 1 hr 12 min for the 83 km — east through Picton to Remembrance Driveway, the Hume from Pheasants Nest, then the M5 and the M5 East. Allow up to an hour and a half in the weekday morning peak.
What time do you pick up for a 6am international flight?
About 2:48am. We put you at the terminal two hours before an international departure and ninety minutes before a domestic one, then work back through the drive and a tunnel allowance.
Can I take the train station to the airport?
You can, with a change at Campbelltown, but services are sparse and the airport stations charge an $18.61 access fee per adult on top of the Opal fare. Roughly two hours at best, nothing early enough for a dawn flight, and an awkward trip with the luggage most Thirlmere travellers carry.
Is airport parking cheaper than a transfer?
For a couple on a short trip it can be — budget long-stay parking starts around $190 a week. For the three- and four-week itineraries more typical here, the parking bill alone passes a return transfer quickly, before the pre-dawn drive and the shuttle bus are counted.
Do you pick up anywhere?
Anywhere in the village and around the lakes. Bush frontage and long driveways are normal here, so if yours is gravel or unlit please mention it when booking and the driver will confirm the property rather than guess.
Is Western Sydney Airport closer?
Considerably closer. WSI is 53 km and about 56 min from the village against 83 km and 1 hr 12 min to Kingsford Smith, and the drive goes back through Picton and up The Northern Road instead of the motorway. The fare is $235 to either.
Can a group of eleven travel together?
Yes — eleven passengers with luggage in one minibus for a flat $385, about $35 a seat. Nine, ten and eleven are all priced the same, so extra guests cost nothing beyond the seat.
Is a private transfer better value than Uber or a taxi?
Almost always, and availability decides it before price does. There is little rideshare presence in the village and effectively none before dawn, while a metered fare across 83 km moves with the traffic. Ours is fixed when you book.
Is there a deposit, or anything to pay when booking?
Nothing. No advance payment and no card held. You pay on the day of travel by card, cash or PayID, and a tax invoice follows by email if you want one.
What happens if my flight arrives late?
The pickup moves with the aircraft at no extra cost. We track the flight number and allow a full hour from touchdown at T1 and forty minutes at T2 and T3.
Are child seats available transfers?
Yes, and included in the fare. Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters are fitted before the vehicle leaves, so we need the children's ages at the time of booking.
Do you run overnight and pre-dawn transfers?
Every day of the year. The village has no late-night transport at all, so booked cars are the whole answer for early departures and late arrivals alike.
Which suburbs nearby do you also cover?
Picton, Tahmoor, Couridjah, Pheasants Nest, Bargo, Avon, Buxton and Yanderra along this corridor, and all 75 suburbs across Wollondilly Shire, Macarthur and the Southern Highlands.
