The drive home
Allow about 57 min for the 54 km from the terminal to the Tahmoor shops on Remembrance Driveway. The run home leaves the Hume at Pheasants Nest and follows Remembrance Driveway south through Picton. It is a fast road at night and the only slow part is the last few hundred metres, where the driveways come off the highway at awkward angles and the driver will take it gently rather than swing in at speed.
The same drive home from Kingsford Smith is 84 km and about 1 hr 13 min, so landing at Badgerys Creek saves 30 km — and the route home carries no tolls, which is the part you notice at midnight.
