How much is a cruise transfer from Buxton?
Between $275 and $415, decided by how many seats you need. Rozelle and Circular Quay cost the same.
Which terminal will my ship sail from?
Both. White Bay is at Rozelle and takes most of the shorter sailings; the Overseas Passenger Terminal is at Circular Quay and takes the larger international ships. Your cruise documents name the one you need — from Buxton it is 98 km to White Bay and 100 km to the Quay.
How long is the drive from Buxton to the terminal?
98 km and roughly 1 hr 28 min to Rozelle; 100 km and about 1 hr 32 min to the Quay. Allow for the terminal approach on top of the drive — we do.
How early do we need to leave?
From your boarding window rather than the departure time on the ticket. Cruise lines board by deck and luggage tag across several hours, so the useful number is when your deck can board — we work back from that, plus the drive and the terminal approach.
Do you have room for a fortnight's packing?
Plenty, provided we know in advance. On a sail day the luggage usually outranks the passenger count when we choose the class.
When do I actually pay?
Nothing up front. The fare is settled at the terminal, which also means a changed sailing costs you nothing.
Can you meet us at disembarkation?
Yes, and most people book both at once. Disembarkation runs by luggage tag rather than a published time, so the return is worked off a message from you at the terminal doors — the detail is on the cruise terminal to Buxton page.
What is the largest group you can take to the terminal?
Eleven is the maximum in a single vehicle at $415. With a full cruise load we may suggest a second vehicle rather than promise something that will not close.
What are the alternatives to a booked car?
Realistically no. The luggage is what rules it out — it is not the distance, it is the four changes and the stairs.
Are child seats available?
Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters, all fitted before we arrive and all at no cost. We need the ages when you book.
Do you run the very early sail-day starts?
Every day of the year, with no weekend or holiday loading. Early sail-day starts are ordinary work; pickups before 6am add $20. Nothing runs to Buxton after dark and nothing comes out to collect you.
Do you also do airport transfers?
That is most of what we do. Fares, drive times and leave-by tables for Sydney Airport are on the Buxton to Sydney Airport page, and Western Sydney International has its own page.
How much notice do you need?
Earlier than you would for a flight. The cruise season concentrates a lot of sailings into a few weeks.
Do you do multiple pickups?
Several doors in the same town is an ordinary arrangement. Tell us the addresses at booking and we plan the order around the boarding window.
Is there a cancellation fee?
One message reschedules it, free. Cruise itineraries move more often than flight times do, which is one reason we take no deposit.
Do you drop at the terminal doors or a car park?
The doors. Both terminals marshal the kerb hard on a sail day, which is exactly why the pickup time allows for it.
Do you serve the towns for sailings?
Bargo, Avon, Yanderra, Couridjah and the rest of the district — all 75 suburbs across Wollondilly Shire, Macarthur and the Southern Highlands, each with its own published fare and its own distance to both terminals.
