From the new terminal to your street. Arrival transfers to Thirlmere — the lakes-and-railway village west of Picton, best known for the steam museum and the national park on its doorstep — with free waiting from touchdown and no advance payment.
Wollondilly Airport Shuttle meets arriving passengers at Western Sydney International and drives them home to Thirlmere (NSW 2572) — a fixed-fare private transfer, not a shared shuttle. There is one terminal, so the driver meets you at the single terminal's pickup point and messages you once you land, and it is 53 km from the terminal to the Thirlmere shops near the museum on Barbour Road, about 56 min — 30 km shorter than the run home from Kingsford Smith, on a route with no tolls. The fare is $185 one way for one or two passengers, rising to $285 for eleven in one vehicle; the Sydney Airport fare from here is $235. We track the flight number, so a delay moves the pickup at no charge — a full hour of free waiting after an international landing and forty minutes after a domestic one. Nothing is payable in advance. One message covers it; nothing is charged until you are home. Quote on 0427 143 612.
Fixed fare each way; pickups add $10
Arrivals are the departure fare plus the $10 pickup fee — $235 for one or two people.

Delayed flights, holidays and a long wait at the belt do not change the price. Nothing is added afterwards. Nothing is charged at booking and no card is held; the fare is paid when you get home. Fares reviewed August 2026.
A new airport is exactly when you want a booked car. The rank behaviour, the rideshare supply and the parking layout are all untested. Yours is not.
Waiting when you land
Passengers and bags decide the vehicle at booking, which is why the boot is never the problem when you land.

The difference is space, not service. All four come with tolls and GST in the fare, restraints fitted at no cost, flight tracking and payment on the day you travel to Thirlmere.
The drive home
Allow about 56 min for the 53 km from the terminal to the Thirlmere shops near the museum on Barbour Road. Home from the airport means the Hume to Pheasants Nest, then across through Picton and out along the Thirlmere road. The village end is unlit and the road narrows past the museum, so the last five minutes are slower than the eighty kilometres before them.
The same drive home from Kingsford Smith is 83 km and about 1 hr 12 min, so landing at Badgerys Creek saves 30 km — and the route home carries no tolls, which is the part you notice at midnight.
Flying out rather than in? The leave-by times and departure fares are on the Thirlmere to Western Sydney Airport page.
Delays, diversions and late nights
A delayed flight is the normal case, not the exception, so the booking is built around the flight number rather than a clock time. Here is what happens in each situation.
Late is normal on long-haul, so the sheet updates itself from the flight number and the first sixty minutes after touchdown are on us.
A domestic landing gets forty minutes of included waiting, timed from the real arrival.
If the flight is cancelled or you are rebooked, one message moves the transfer. No money has changed hands, so nothing needs refunding.
One flight number sets the pickup, absorbs the delay and tells the driver when to leave for the terminal.
One hall, one meeting point

There is only one terminal at Badgerys Creek, which makes the meet simple: through the doors, your name on a card, and the luggage carried out to the vehicle.
Domestic arrivals get forty minutes rather than sixty, which is comfortably more than a domestic belt usually needs.
From the forecourt it is one uninterrupted run to your street. Bush frontage and long driveways are normal here. If yours is gravel or unlit, say so at booking — the driver would rather know than reverse out of the wrong one at one in the morning.
The other airport
Kingsford Smith is 83 km from Thirlmere and Badgerys Creek is 53 km. If your flight lands at the older airport instead, the arrival is met with the same free waiting and the same door drop, at that airport's own published fare.
about 1 hr 12 min · Hume, M5 and the airport tunnel
Back through Camden and Picton, then out along the Thirlmere road. The last few minutes are unlit village road, which is why the driver slows at the end regardless of how straightforward the eighty kilometres before it were. Arrivals into Mascot are covered on the Sydney Airport to Thirlmere page.
about 56 min · no tolls on our route
Still where the long-haul network is, and where most arrivals into this district land until the new airport's schedule fills out.
$185 from this airport; each airport has its own published fare. The arrival fare does not change with the terminal, the hour or the length of the delay — and there is no station access fee, because we drive you the whole way.
Get Free QuoteGetting home from a new terminal
Badgerys Creek is a new airport with no rail link to this district and no bus service to it. Standing in the hall at midnight is a bad time to discover that, so here are the options in advance.
| Option | Typical cost (2 adults) | Door to terminal | What it actually involves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer (us) | $185 fixed | ~56 min, door to door | met inside the single arrivals hall, luggage carried, a fixed published fare, straight to your door |
| Train or metro | Opal fares, and it goes the wrong way | not a realistic option | the airport metro runs north to St Marys, not south toward Thirlmere — you would finish further from home than you started |
| Rideshare or taxi | metered, and surge-dependent | ~56 min if a car accepts | thirlmere has no late-night transport of any kind |
| Drive and park | fuel and tolls plus from about $190 a week in budget long-stay parking | ~56 min plus the car park shuttle | only works if you drove yourself out and left it there — and the car park layout at a brand-new airport is one more thing to work out after a long flight |
Rank behaviour, rideshare supply and parking rates at Western Sydney International will take months to settle. The honest summary for an arrival into Thirlmere: there is no public transport option home from this airport to this district, which is exactly why the booked car is the sensible answer.
Landing as a group

Eleven arriving passengers are met by one vehicle for $285 — about $26 a seat, against three separate cars at whatever the rank charges on the night. Extended families, sports teams and friends landing together all book this way.
Send the flight number, the headcount and the bag count when you book. If the group is split across two flights we can meet the later one and hold the vehicle, or run two pickups — tell us which you would prefer rather than deciding it in the arrivals hall.
The rank, honestly
Rideshare coverage around a brand-new airport takes months to settle. A pre-booked vehicle does not depend on it.
Nobody can tell you what a metered trip of this length will cost until it ends. Our figure was fixed at booking.
The metro serves the airport from St Marys. From there to Thirlmere is still a car, still at whatever the meter says.
Why book the arrival
Nothing to arrange while you are tired, holding bags and looking for signal in a terminal you have never used.
A single terminal building means your name on a card in one place, not a hunt between buildings.
An hour after an international landing and forty minutes after a domestic one, timed from the real arrival.
No deposit and no card held; you pay the driver at your door, by card, cash or PayID.
Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters fitted before the vehicle leaves for the terminal, at no extra cost.
Midnight arrivals, public holidays and the last flight of the night are ordinary work when the booking is in.

Arrival questions
Between $185 and $285, set by how many seats you need. The airport you landed at does not enter into it.
Past the arrivals doors, by name. The single-building layout makes this the simplest meet of any Sydney airport.
About 56 min for the 53 km, on a route that carries no tolls. From Mascot the same trip is 83 km, so landing at Badgerys Creek saves you 30 km of driving at the end of a flight.
Nothing, on your side. We track the flight number, so the pickup moves with the aircraft. An hour of waiting from touchdown is included on an international arrival and forty minutes on a domestic one, measured from when you actually land.
One message rebooks it. No money has changed hands and no card is held, so a cancellation costs you nothing.
Nothing is payable in advance and no card is stored. The fare is settled when you get home.
Yes. One vehicle, your party only, terminal to door. Bush frontage and long driveways are normal here. If yours is gravel or unlit, say so at booking — the driver would rather know than reverse out of the wrong one at one in the morning.
Not to this district. A metro serves the airport from St Marys, which is the wrong direction for Thirlmere — you would end up further from home than when you started, with your luggage.
Two things you cannot get at a rank: a known price on a 53 km run, and certainty that a car exists at all. Both matter more at an airport in its first year.
Eleven is the maximum in one vehicle, at $285 for the group. Split across two aircraft, we can wait for the second or send two vehicles — your choice.
Yes, at no cost. Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters are fitted before the vehicle leaves for the terminal, so we need the children's ages when you book rather than when you land.
Every night of the year, including the last arrivals. Thirlmere has no late-night transport of any kind.
You can book an arrival for any date from then, with no deposit taken.
Both, each with its own published fare. Kingsford Smith is 83 km from here — meeting points, terminal by terminal, and the free waiting times are on the Sydney Airport to Thirlmere page.
A day or two outside the busy periods; more over January and the school breaks. Most people book it alongside the outbound trip.
